Dr. William Schaffenburg is a board-certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist who specializes in the prevention, detection, and treatment of skin cancer, as well as other disorders of the skin, hair, and nails. His formal education and training include:
- Dickinson College (Carlisle, PA) – BS, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
- Uniformed Services University (Bethesda, MD) – Doctor of Medicine
- Tripler Army Medical Center (Honolulu, HI) – Transitional Medicine Internship
- Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (Bethesda, MD) – Dermatology Residency
- Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (Bethesda, MD) – Dermatopathology Fellowship
Dr. Schaffenburg has served as a physician in the U.S. Army for 14 years. He has had multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals, and he is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), and an active member of the American Society of Dermatopathology (ASDP), and the Military Dermatology Society, amongst others.
In his spare time, Dr. Schaffenburg enjoys chess, and playing the guitar and the piano.
